Assessment at Sage Oak
Assessment is diagnostic first. The purpose is to shape the learning plan, not to rank students. Every required assessment below has a window, an owner, and a place where results are recorded.
Required assessments
• NWEA MAP — fall and spring windows for grades 2–8 • CAASPP — state window in the spring • ELPAC — initial within 30 days of enrollment for identified students • Curriculum-based benchmarks — at the close of each learning period
Recording results
Results are entered in the student information system within five school days of the testing window closing. Coordinators audit entries at the end of each window.
Supporting the family
Share results in plain language during the next learning period meeting and connect each result to one concrete next step in the learning plan.
